Clear RJ11 6P4C modular plug with four gold contacts

Why 6P4C, not 6P2C or 8P8C
A six-position housing is the RJ11 face used on wall plates and modem jacks. Loading four contacts (6P4C) carries tip/ring plus a second pair for data, guest line, or alarm. 6P2C loads only the center pair for a single analog line. 6P6C (RJ12) loads all six for key-system or some PBX leads. Do not put this 4-contact plug on a Cat6 data channel: the geometry is telephone, the gold count is four, and there is no pair separator for 250 MHz.
The interface belongs to the registered jack family. RJ11 in the field usually means a 6P2C or 6P4C modular connector. The clear polycarbonate body lets incoming QC see that all four conductors reached the gold blades before the tool closes. Unused outer positions on a 6P housing may ship empty or with plastic fillers — the small clear chips in the photos are typical unused-cavity or runner pieces from a 6P tool, not a second connector type.

Use flat 4-conductor station cable (26 AWG is the usual OEM spec). A 6P modular crimp die is required; an 8P8C Ethernet tool will crush the smaller nose. Latch up, gold facing the operator, T/R on the center two positions unless the modem manual says otherwise.
This plug is unshielded and voice / low-speed data class. Typical ratings in this family: about 1.5 A / 125 VAC signal, contact resistance in the tens of milliohms, 750 mating cycles, indoor −10 °C to +60 °C. Do not specify it for PoE or 10G. Outdoor or wet drops need a different enclosure, not a thicker gold flash.

How to write the PO
State: RJ11 6P4C modular plug, gold plated, clear PC, 4 contacts. Do not write “RJ45” or “Cat6 crystal head.” Those are 8P8C and will not fit a 6P die or a phone jack correctly.

Will it work on a DSL modem?
Yes for the analog/DSL wall lead that uses an RJ11 jack. It will not replace the Ethernet RJ45 on the LAN side of the modem.
What tool do I need?
A modular crimp tool with a 6P (RJ11/RJ12) die. An 8P Ethernet-only tool is the wrong cavity.
Can you load 2 or 6 contacts in the same body?
